Tolls and parking

Electric cars get a discount on motorway tolls, but there is no free parking in Belgrade, Novi Sad or Niš.

  • Motorway tolls: a 10 % discount for electric vehicles with ENP, on top of 6 % for electronic toll collection
  • Vehicle use tax: 0 RSD
  • There is no free parking for electric cars

  • Third-party liability: almost every modern electric car is in the top band, about 15.716 RSD a year before the no-claims bonus

Motorway tolls

The discount applies to categories I–IV and is calculated on the amount after the 6 %. The condition is an ENP contract with JP “Putevi Srbije” (TAG device, info 0800 111 004). Electric vehicle status is checked when the contract is signed.

Details: the decision and prices

The discounts are set in the Decision on the Amount of the Special Fee for the Use of Public Roads (Official Gazette 57/2026, in force since 1 July 2026). The discount for electric vehicles has existed since 1 January 2024.

Indicative prices for category I as of 1 January 2026: Belgrade–Niš 1.180 RSD, Belgrade–Subotica 850, Belgrade–Šid 520, Belgrade–Preševo 2.060. After the July 2026 amendment, check the Putevi Srbije price list.

Parking

The Novi Sad price applies 0–24, all year round, and covers parking, depreciation and electricity.

Details: by city
  • Belgrade: in the “Obilićev venac” garage (six spaces next to a 22 kW charger), according to 2021 data, electric vehicles paid 100 RSD/h instead of 120, with free electricity; the situation in 2026 has not been confirmed.
  • Novi Sad (Official Gazette of the City of Novi Sad 35/26): a 24-hour e-ticket costs 5.000 RSD. The electricity at a maximum of 11 kW is worth about 264 RSD an hour at the EPS tariff. Regular zones: extra 100, I 60, II 50, III 30 RSD/h.

Other benefits

Serbia has no bus-lane access, low-emission zones or green number plates for electric vehicles. Since 16 September 2026, the “Mokra Gora” Nature Park has not charged fully electric cars an entrance fee.

Third-party liability (AO), which is charged by power, is the only item where an electric car pays more than a comparable petrol car. Details: insurance, registration and taxes.

Details: the SAUVD proposal

In February 2026 the importers' association SAUVD proposed green number plates and non-financial benefits — a proposal, not a regulation. Entry to Mokra Gora used to cost 200 RSD a day.

Electricity at home

The EPS low tariff in the green zone (up to 350 kWh) is 2,4034 RSD/kWh, excluding network charges, excise duty, fees and VAT. More: EPS tariffs and who pays for charging electricity.
