Privacy policy
An account is optional, and there are no ad pixels. Visits are counted without cookies, an analytics cookie is set only with your permission, and forms, reports from the map and the account keep only what you enter yourself.
Translated from Serbian. Where the exact wording matters, the Serbian original applies.
- Personal data reaches the site only if you enter it yourself — in a form, a report from the map, the account or an e-mail to [email protected]
- Your IP address is seen by Cloudflare and, on the charger map, by OpenFreeMap; the site keeps only its one-way fingerprint, which changes every day
- The location for “Near me” is not sent to the site, and YouTube videos load only when you start them
- Visits are counted without cookies, and favourite chargers stay in your browser and, if you are signed in, in your account; an analytics cookie is set only with your permission

What data is processed
If you write by e-mail or through the form for corrections, for companies or for advertising enquiries, the site receives what you type: the message, your name and e-mail address if you give them, and for companies also a phone number. If you send a report, rating, comment, photo or short answer (cable, parking, opening hours, what went wrong) on a charger card, the site keeps them, your nickname if you give one, and the time. If you add a missing charger on the map, the site keeps the point you placed, the description and photo you send, your nickname if you give one (not published) and the time. With every message and report a one-way fingerprint of the IP address is kept: it serves only to prevent abuse. It is made with a random key that is valid for one day only, so afterwards the address cannot be recovered from the fingerprint. Before sending, your browser shrinks and re-saves the photo without location and device data (EXIF).
On every visit, the site's provider (Cloudflare) processes technical data: IP address, time of the request, device and browser type. Fonts and all other content are loaded from the same domain, except the base map and the scripts for measuring visits.
Details: purpose, retention periods, processors, cookies
- Purpose and legal basis: replying to messages, accurate data, the secure and proper functioning of the site, and displaying the map (legitimate interest). The account is kept at your request, for the service you asked for (contract). The Weekly Digest is sent only with your consent. There is no automated decision-making, and data is not sold.
- Retention: correspondence and form messages are kept for no longer than 12 months from the last contact and are deleted earlier on request, unless the law requires longer retention. Search queries are kept for 90 days. Reports, ratings and photos from the map stay while the charger is on the map or until you ask for deletion. Technical logs are kept by the provider under its own rules.
- Processors: Cloudflare (hosting, database, visit measurement and search by meaning) and Spacemail by Spaceship (e-mail). Use of the site’s features is measured by PostHog (servers in the EU). E-mails from the site are sent by Resend. Data is also processed outside Serbia, with the safeguards of the Law on Personal Data Protection: an adequate level of protection or standard contractual clauses.
- Cookies and browser storage: without your permission the site sets no tracking cookies; the provider may set only a strictly necessary security cookie. If you allow the analytics cookie in the banner, PostHog sets a cookie whose name starts with ph_ and writes a random identifier to the browser's storage; the cookie lasts a year, and you can withdraw your permission at any time (the button in the “Measuring visits” section). The browser's storage (localStorage) also holds your cookie choice, your list of favourite chargers, “My car” and the navigation app on the map, once you make them. There are no advertising cookies. To sign in to an account the site sets the necessary cookies bv_s, bv_in and bv_n, described in the Account section.
Measuring visits
Visits are counted with Cloudflare Web Analytics: page views, the website or search engine the visit came from, country, device type and loading speed. The tool sets no cookies, writes nothing to the browser and does not track you on other websites. The results are aggregated.
In addition, visits are counted by our own counter, on Cloudflare servers in the EU: which page was opened (without the parameters in the address), which website the visit came from (the site name only), campaign tags (utm), the page language, country, device type and browser. The counter sets no cookies and writes nothing to the browser. To count the same person once a day, an anonymous fingerprint is made from the IP address and browser data with a random key that is valid only for that day and is deleted after two days. The IP address is not stored, and the fingerprint cannot be traced back to it or linked to other days. The records are not linked to a name or an account and are deleted after one year.
To make the site work better, it also records how its features are used: the charger card, the company card in the list, map filters, search, clicks on a company's website or phone number, form submissions. This is done by PostHog, on servers in the EU (Frankfurt). Until you allow the cookie, it works without one: nothing is stored in the browser, and an anonymous identifier that changes every day is made from the IP address and browser data. The IP address is not stored, the records are not linked to a name or an account, and they are deleted after one year at most. If your browser sends the Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control signal, these records are not sent.
If you allow the cookie in the banner, from the next page on PostHog keeps a random identifier in your browser, so repeat visits can be seen too, and records how the pages are used: clicks, scrolling and changes on the screen. The text you type into fields is not recorded, and recordings are kept for 30 days at most. You can withdraw your permission at any time: the cookie is then deleted and measurement goes back to the cookieless mode.
Apps for iPhone and Android
iPhone app
The BlokVolt app for iPhone also works without an account: then it sends to the BlokVolt server only what you send yourself — charger status reports, ratings, comments, photos (resized and stripped of EXIF and GPS data before upload), suggested corrections and new chargers. Your location never leaves your phone: routes and address search are handled by Apple Maps.
A “My BlokVolt” account is optional. You sign in with your Apple account, your Google account or a code sent to your email. The account stores your email address, favorite chargers, selected car, language and currency, and reports and photos sent while signed in are linked to the account. Your Apple or Google account identifier is not stored. You can delete the account and all its data in the app (More → My BlokVolt → Delete account) or on the website; you can download your data in the same place. The app has no ads, no tracking and no third-party SDKs.
Android app
The BlokVolt app for Android sends data only to www.blokvolt.rs, and only when you choose to: your feedback on a charger (status, rating, comment and an optional nickname), photos (downsized, without EXIF and GPS data), corrections and suggested new chargers, and, with a “My BlokVolt” account, your email address, favorite chargers, selected car, city, language, currency and your Weekly Digest subscription. Your phone’s location is used only on the phone (nearest chargers, widget) and is not sent to the website.
For “Chargers on the way” the app sends the addresses you type to the Photon service (Komoot) — and, when you pick a place by long-pressing the map, the coordinates of that point, to look up its name. It sends the route points — and your location, if the route starts “from my location” — to the OSRM service (FOSSGIS). The base map is served by OpenFreeMap, which, like any map service, sees your IP address and the part of the map you are viewing. Google sign-in goes through Google; BlokVolt receives only a confirmation with your email address. The app has no ads, analytics or tracking. You can delete your account in the app (“My BlokVolt → Delete account”) or at www.blokvolt.rs/nalog/.
Android version 1.0, downloaded from the App page (APK), simply opens this site in Chrome or another browser, full screen. It asks for no permissions, sends no notifications and collects nothing itself: it loads pages from the site like a browser, so everything on this page applies to it.
Favourite chargers
The navigation app you last chose on the map is kept only in your browser (localStorage) and is not sent to the site. A charger you save to your favourites on the map and “My car” (make, model, consumption, whether you have your own cable and the car's optional on-board charger) are kept in your browser (localStorage) and, if you are signed in, in your account too. Without an account they are not sent to the site and disappear when you clear the site's data in the browser. Signing out and deleting the account remove them from the browser.
Account and the Weekly Digest
An account is optional. It holds your e-mail address and language and, if you enter them, your favourite chargers, your car (model, consumption, whether you have your own cable and the car's optional on-board charger), fast-charging plug and city. It also keeps the link to the ratings and photos you send from the map while signed in. For every device where you are signed in, a session is kept: when you signed in and when it was last used.
Signing in needs no password: a six-digit code and a link arrive at your e-mail address; they are valid for 15 minutes and can be used once. The site keeps only their one-way fingerprint (hash), not the code itself.
Signing in uses two cookies, both for 90 days: bv_s carries the session and cannot be read by scripts (HttpOnly), and bv_in only tells the pages that you are signed in. While you wait for the code, the cookie bv_n (HttpOnly, 15 minutes) ties it to the browser in which you asked for it. They are strictly necessary for signing in, so no consent is asked for them. Signing out deletes bv_s and bv_in, and a session ends by itself after 90 days without use.
The Weekly Digest arrives only after confirmation: an e-mail with a link goes to the address first, and without a click on it nothing is sent. With each consent the time, where it came from, the version of the consent text and the day's fingerprint of the IP address are recorded. You can unsubscribe with one click in every issue or in the account. After you unsubscribe, the consent history is kept for three more years as proof and then deleted. A sign-up that is not confirmed is deleted after 30 days; the consent history then keeps only a one-way fingerprint of the address. If mail to an address cannot be delivered or is marked as spam, only a one-way fingerprint of the address is kept, so that the Weekly Digest is no longer sent to it; a sign-in code and a confirmation link you request yourself still arrive, and a new confirmed sign-up deletes the fingerprint.
For every issue that is sent, the address it went to and the time are recorded; after 60 days only the number of e-mails sent remains. The e-mail has no pixel that tracks opening: the cover picture is the same for every reader. Clicks on the links in the e-mail are counted only as totals, per link and day, with nothing about who clicked.
These data are stored in the Cloudflare D1 database. E-mails are sent by Resend (Plus Five Five, Inc.) from its EU region (Ireland). The company is in the USA, so the address and the content of an e-mail may be processed there as well; the transfer is based on the standard contractual clauses in its data processing agreement, and the company is certified under the EU–US Data Privacy Framework.
The account is kept until you delete it. In the account you can download everything stored with it and delete it: the account, favourite chargers and settings disappear, while ratings and photos stay on the map, no longer linked to the account.
When you delete the account, the address is also removed from the consent history of the Weekly Digest; only its one-way fingerprint remains.
For everything else, write to [email protected].
Offline use
So that the site also works without a connection, your browser keeps copies of the last 40 pages of the site you opened and of the parts they use (styles, scripts, map data; at most 150 files). The copies stay on your device, are not sent to anyone and disappear when you clear the site's data in your browser.
Charger map
On the “Charger map” page the base map loads from the OpenFreeMap servers (tiles.openfreemap.org), so those servers see your IP address. Charger data comes from Open Charge Map (CC BY 4.0) and OpenStreetMap (ODbL), completed with the lists the networks publish themselves. Rules for reports, ratings and photos are on the page Rules for reports and photos.
The “Near me” and “Nearest charger” buttons use your location only when you press them. The location is not sent to the site and is not stored. When you add a charger, the “I am here” button only moves the map to your location; the site receives only the charger’s point, when you send the form. The link to evolako.rs in the map attribution and in the “Featured” box carries a tag showing that you came from BlokVolt.
“Chargers on the way” looks up the places you type in Photon (photon.komoot.io, Komoot GmbH, Germany) and calculates the route in OSRM on the FOSSGIS e.V. server (routing.openstreetmap.de, Germany). The browser sends those services the text you type and the two points of the route, and if you leave the starting point empty — your location as the starting point; they also see your IP address, and FOSSGIS keeps routes in its logs. The site receives and stores none of it. The services are called only when you start typing, pick a point on the map or press “Show chargers”.
You can also pick the destination and the starting point on the map itself. The name of a place you tap is read from the map background and is not sent to anyone. When you press and hold a point on the map (right-click on a computer), the browser sends the coordinates of that point to Photon to get the place name; the route to it is calculated in the same way as for a place you type.
The map page also has a link that is hidden from people, and robots.txt forbids robots to open it. If a program opens it anyway, only the day, the daily fingerprint of the IP address and the program's identifier (User-Agent) are recorded: this shows us who is automatically downloading data in breach of the terms. No one is denied access because of this.
Search
Search runs in your browser. To see what visitors look for and what the site is missing, the text of a query is sent to the site and kept in aggregate per day: the query, the page language, the number of pages found and the number of results opened. E-mail addresses and longer runs of digits, such as phone numbers, are removed from the query before it is stored. No IP address, fingerprint, account or cookie is stored with the query, so it cannot be linked to a person. The records are deleted after 90 days.
When search by meaning is switched on, the query is also sent to an artificial intelligence model on Cloudflare’s servers (Workers AI). The model turns the query into a series of numbers that is compared with parts of the site’s pages, and the site only receives the addresses of the closest pages. That query is not stored, and Cloudflare does not use it to train models.
A message from the “Didn’t find what you were looking for?” box is kept like messages from the other forms (above).
Video
Some pages have YouTube (Google) videos. Until you press “Play”, nothing loads from YouTube; after that the video loads from youtube-nocookie.com, which under Google's rules sets no advertising cookies until you watch the video.
Ads
Some pages may carry an ad: an image and a link loaded from the BlokVolt server, without the advertiser’s cookies, pixels or scripts. The advertiser receives no data about you. When you click an ad, you go to the advertiser’s site; the link shows that you come from BlokVolt, and from then on that site’s privacy policy applies.
Your rights
You have the right to access, rectification and completion, erasure, restriction of processing, data portability and objection. Send your request to [email protected]. The reply comes without delay, within 30 days at the latest.
You can lodge a complaint with the Commissioner for Information of Public Importance and Personal Data Protection.
