Used cars from authorised dealers

Brand dealers sell used cars after an inspection, with a warranty and the paperwork in one place. For now these offers include few electric cars, but most of the websites have a filter by drive type.

Independent importers and sellers

For brands without an official importer, above all Tesla, there are companies in Serbia that sell imported new and used electric cars. The list is alphabetical and shows what the companies themselves publish.

Company City What it publicly offers
Electric Blue Belgrade used electric cars, mostly Tesla and Renault Zoe; rental
Električni Automobili Belgrade new (GAC Aion, JMEV) and used electric cars; Tesla imports from the EU; servicing
KiBOST Car Belgrade, Novi Sad new Teslas, price including customs duty, transport and homologation; rental; mobile servicing for Teslas
Master Automotive Balkan Belgrade imports premium and electric vehicles to order

KiBOST Car and Električni Automobili are also in the company register, as companies that install chargers. Used car lots also sell electric cars; their profiles are on the classifieds sites. Before paying, ask what the price includes — customs duty, VAT, transport, homologation and registration — and who gives the warranty. If a company is missing, report it.

Import from the EU

  1. Purchase. Get an invoice or a sales contract with a certified signature, the foreign registration certificate and the COC (European certificate of conformity). For 0 % customs duty you also need proof of EU origin: an EUR.1, or, for a vehicle up to 6.000 €, an origin declaration on the invoice is enough.
  2. Transport. By lorry, or driven on export plates of the country of purchase.
  3. Customs. Customs clearance at a customs office. With proof of EU origin the customs duty is 0 %, and 20 % VAT is always paid; the rates for other origins are in the import and customs guide.
  4. Vehicle testing. After customs clearance, the car is driven, with the application and documents, to an organisation authorised by the Road Traffic Safety Agency (ABS) for testing; AMSS-CMV has the largest network. After a positive result, ABS issues a certificate of testing of an imported used vehicle. Fees on the ABS website: 430 RSD republic administrative fee and 3.000 RSD ABS fee; the price of the testing is set by the organisation.
  5. Registration. Technical inspection, insurance and first registration at the Ministry of the Interior (MUP). An electric car pays no vehicle use tax — registration and taxes.
Details: what ABS rejects, vehicles from the USA
  • The vehicle must be homologated for the European market. ABS rejects vehicles with right-hand drive, with a damaged or illegible chassis number, or with modifications not entered in the documents.
  • The certificate requires the original foreign registration certificate. If the data do not match the technical databases, a COC or a manufacturer's confirmation is required, and a certified translation may also be requested.
  • Used vehicles can be imported from the USA since 30 September 2024, under a special procedure for vehicles that do not comply with European rules: lights to European regulations, a speedometer in km/h, homologated tyres.
  • The list of authorised organisations and the application form are on the ABS website.

Classifieds sites in the EU and the region

Site Country Electric cars
mobile.de Germany 73.212 offers; some ads carry the label “Mit Batterie-Zertifikat” — the car comes with a battery certificate
AutoScout24 several EU countries ads from all over Europe
Hasznaltauto.hu Hungary 6.799 new and used
OLX.ba Bosnia and Herzegovina 133 ads; the country is not in the EU, so the customs duty depends on the vehicle's origin

The number of offers is as of 24 October 2026. Austria (willhaben), Croatia (Njuškalo) and Slovenia (Avto.net) also have large classifieds sites.

Leasing and auctions

Leasing companies sell vehicles returned from leasing, while state companies and the Customs Administration sell decommissioned and seized vehicles. Cars there are bought as seen, as a rule without a warranty.

On 24 October there were no electric cars in the publicly visible offers. Leasing to buy a new or used car: loans and leasing.

What to check

  • Battery. Ask for a battery health (SOH) report from an authorised service centre or an independent test; the range in the ad is not proof. Škoda Plus provides a battery certificate with a used electric car, and some ads on mobile.de include one. The independent AVILOO test has no published partner in Serbia.
  • Battery warranty. Usually 8 years or 160.000 km from first registration: check the date in the papers and whether the warranty is valid in Serbia.
  • Connector. European cars have Type 2 for slow and CCS2 for fast charging. A car bought directly in China has GB/T and needs an adapter for chargers in Serbia — which plug a car has.
  • On-board charger. The AC charging power, for example 7,4 or 11 kW, determines how long charging takes at home and at a slow public charger.
  • Servicing. Whether the brand has an authorised service centre in Serbia: battery and software repairs are done by authorised service centres. For Tesla, the nearest service centres are in Timișoara and Budapest — electric car servicing.
  • Recalls. Ask whether recalls have been carried out; one example is the recall of Volkswagen ID. models over battery cells.
  • History and papers. The COC, proof of origin and whether the car has been cleared through customs and registered in Serbia; whether it is on lease or pledged as collateral. Vehicle history reports by chassis number show the mileage, damage and previous registrations.
  • Insurance. For a brand with no authorised service centre in Serbia, ask the insurer about comprehensive cover (kasko) before buying — insurance.
  • Test drive. Also try charging at a fast charger: what power the car takes and whether it charges without errors — why a car charges slowly.

How battery health is measured, what the warranty says and where in Serbia services do it: battery check before buying.

The 5.000 € subsidy applies only to a new car that was neither registered nor used before the application — subsidies 2026. New electric cars by brand, with importers and prices: electric cars in Serbia.
