- A dedicated circuit. From the distribution board to the charger, with the cable cross-section matched to the charging power and the length of the run.
- Protection. A circuit breaker and a type A RCD combined with DC fault current detection in the charger, or a type B RCD (safety and test certificate guide).
- Power setting. The charger is set to match the approved power of the connection, so that the main breaker does not cut off the house while the car is charging.
- Test certificate. A written test report on the installation, with the measurement results.
- For a building's garage. Consent from the residents' assembly before work begins (guide).
