Cost calculator: what it assumes

The calculator multiplies the kilometres and the car's consumption by the price of a kWh at home and at public chargers, and compares that with fuel. The result is an estimate, not a bill.

Step by step

  1. Open the cost calculator. Enter your kilometres per month and your car's consumption in kWh per 100 km; the consumption is shown on the car's on-board computer.
  2. Choose the zone from your EPS bill and the tariff, night or day. Alternatively, choose “I'll enter the price from the bill” and type in your own kWh price.
  3. Use the slider to set the share of charging at public chargers and choose a price: fast DC, AC or a free state-run charger. You can also enter your own price per kWh.
  4. For comparison, choose petrol or diesel, the consumption in litres and the price per litre.

The result changes immediately: the cost of the electric car per month and per 100 km, the fuel cost, and the difference per month and per year.

How it calculates

  • At home: (energy price + 0,801 RSD for renewable sources + 0,015 RSD for energy efficiency) × excise duty 7,5 % × VAT 20 %. Electricity from the meter = kilometres × consumption ÷ 100 × (1 + losses).
  • Public chargers: kWh the car receives × price per kWh.
  • Fuel: kilometres × litres per 100 km ÷ 100 × price per litre.

What it assumes

  • Default values: 1.250 km per month and 17 kWh per 100 km. At home: blue zone, night tariff and 10 % charging losses. Share of charging at public chargers: 10 %. Petrol: 6,5 litres per 100 km.
  • Fast DC charger: 60 RSD per kWh, the average of four receipts from the Charge&GO app, August–September 2026 (43–79 RSD/kWh). AC charger: 91 RSD per kWh, when the car accepts 11 kW at a 22 kW Charge&GO charger.
  • Losses are added only to charging at home: the meter also measures the electricity lost in the charger and the cable.
  • All electricity for the car at home is calculated at the price of the selected zone. The line below the result shows how many kWh a month charging adds to your bill; the green zone applies up to 350 kWh, the blue up to 1.200 kWh.
  • “Power increase, kW”, in the “Losses and connection power” section: each additional kW of connection power adds 78,55 RSD a month.
  • Fuel prices are the maximum retail prices, with the date shown below the field, and they change every Friday. For an exact result, enter the price at the pump.

What is not included

The price of the car and the subsidy, insurance, maintenance, motorway tolls (10 % discount with ENP), the fixed items on the electricity bill and the home charger. Electric cars do not pay the vehicle use tax.

The calculator uses EPS prices for guaranteed supply to households as of 01.10.2025, including fees, excise duty and VAT. A night-time kWh costs 4,15 RSD in the green, 5,70 RSD in the blue and 10,35 RSD in the red zone. Low-tariff hours depend on the region: Tariffs and zones.
