According to Ministry of the Interior (MUP) data published by RTS on 3 April 2026, 7.155 electric cars and 55.184 hybrids are registered in Serbia, out of a total fleet of just over 3,1 million vehicles. For comparison: in 2016 there were 123 electric and 88 hybrid vehicles.
Another source, 021.rs (3 September 2026), gives 7.237 e-cars at the end of 2025, which is 0,4 % of 2,1 million passenger cars. The figures agree; the difference in the base (2,1 versus 3,1 million) is the difference between passenger cars and all vehicles. At EV Days in Novi Sad (11 September 2026) insurers spoke of “about 6.000” — we stick to the MUP figures.

In the first half of 2026, 22.155 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles were sold (+17,7 %); hybrids made up 37 %, plug-in hybrids 6,5 % and “electrified” vehicles 46 % in total. Best-selling brands: Škoda, Toyota, Volkswagen, Hyundai, Renault; BYD and Chery are also in the top 10.
A note on the discrepancy: 021.rs cites “imports of 657 e-cars in the first half of the year”; SAUVD gives 535 registered new BEVs. This is probably the difference between imports and registrations — we use SAUVD.
Brands in the EV segment: BYD claims a 50,8 % share of electric car sales in Serbia (Sealion 7 the best-selling EV, Atto 2 third, Dolphin Surf fourth; importer's figure, 23 July 2026). SAUVD does not publish an independent table by model.
Used electric cars: in the first quarter of 2026, 422 used EVs were imported (+75 %); electric cars make up less than 1 % of all used-vehicle imports in the first half of 2026, the average price of an imported used car is 12.588 € (June), and the average age is 10–15 years.

For orientation: Electromaps has 150 stations in its database for Serbia (60 in Belgrade), and the gap to 220–230 is the difference between stations and charging points, plus incomplete databases. The commercial network Charge&GO lists 79 chargers at 68 locations with 135 connectors; JP Putevi Srbije has 36 chargers installed on motorways (31 in operation), and charging at them is free; Tesla has two Superchargers (Belgrade, Aleksinac). No operator publishes a price list on its website — prices are in the apps, and billing is per minute (Emobility Spectra: per “charging unit” plus a per-minute surcharge), because the implementing regulation under Article 210v of the Energy Law has not yet been adopted; see the price index.
RTS (April 2026): Serbia has 3–4 public chargers per 100.000 inhabitants, while the experts' target is 10–15. The share of electric cars in new car sales is about 2–3 %, compared with 18,8 % in the EU. For the wider regional context: Montenegro has 782 BEVs (end of 2025), Bosnia and Herzegovina 763 (2024), North Macedonia 1.507 (2024), and Croatia registered 992 new BEVs in 2025.
