Electric car statistics

• Starting point: 7.155 electric vehicles according to MUP data given to RTS (3 April 2026).
• From April to September 2026, 1.028 new electric passenger cars were registered for the first time (SAUVD: 1.166 in nine months, 138 of them in the first quarter). At the end of September that makes 8.183.
• After that the number grows by the April–September average, 5,62 cars a day, and changes every six hours.
• Imported used cars, light commercial vehicles and deregistered vehicles are not counted. The estimate is corrected when SAUVD or MUP publish new data, and if there are no new data for 120 days, the number stops growing.

021.rs gives 7.237 e-cars at the end of 2025, or 0,4 % of 2,1 million passenger cars (3,1 million is the figure for all vehicles).

• 2025: 2,1 % of 31.697 new passenger cars. First half of 2025: 161 new BEVs.
• January–September 2026: 29.517 new passenger cars (+23,15 %); hybrids in total 44,52 %, petrol 40,41 %, diesel 9,30 %. Among light commercial vehicles, 461 electric (11,73 %).
• First half of 2026: 22.155 new passenger cars and light commercial vehicles (+17,7 %); hybrids 37 %, plug-in hybrids 6,5 %, “electrified” 46 % in total.
• BYD (importer, July 2026): 50,8 % of electric car sales in Serbia.
• Imports in the first half of 2026 (021.rs): 657 e-cars; 535 registered.
• Used cars: 422 used EVs were imported in the first quarter of 2026 (+75 %); electric cars made up less than 1 % of used-vehicle imports in the first half of 2026.

Electromaps lists 150 stations (60 in Belgrade): it counts stations, not charging points, and the databases are incomplete. Charging is billed per minute because the implementing regulation under Article 210v of the Energy Law has not been adopted.
